Soft, Lush, and Breathtaking Bouquets

We have been noticing a huge trend this season! All our brides are loving the extra lush and full bridal bouquets! Less structure, more texture! We always love seeing styles evolve throughout the year, but we hope this stays around for awhile because it truly is so beautiful. Hydrangeas, Peonies, Ranunculus, and full garden Roses are all our brides are talking about. We know we will being designing some amazing bouquets this wedding season!  Here are some of our favorite past EWD bouquets that all our brides are loving!

Hotel Arista Tasting

Hotel Arista is one of our favorite wedding venues! We were able to join in on their bridal tasting a few weeks ago, and create a gorgeous fantasy table. A floral runner made of pink peonies, pink hydrangea, pink garden roses, white hydrangeas  and white garden roses, made for the perfect show stopper! We loved bright pinks against the dark slate  linen, accented by stem votives and crystal votives. We also made a few bouquets for our brides to swoon over!  It was a wonderful day, and we loved showing off our fantasy table to all the brides! Geneva Bride Wedding Walk!

This past weekend we had the Geneva Bride Wedding Walk.  It is such a fun day that involved so many talented Geneva wedding vendors, we love being a part of it! We also get to talk to so many brides who are beginning to plan their wedding, as well as show them what we do.

Lately, our staff and brides have been obsessed with the blush and pinks! Soft, romantic, and garden like floral arrangements are becoming quite the trend! And nothing goes better with that look than antique gold.  We cannot get enough! So, we decided we had to do this look for our Geneva Bride fantasy table at the Herrington Inn & Spa.  Don’t you love the way it turned out?

Not only did we set up this amazing table for the wedding walk, but we had countless varieties and colors of flowers back at design studio to show off to the brides.  We were able to show off some beautiful blooms that gave inspiration for every kind of bride!

The EWD staff is already looking forward to next year’s Wedding Walk, and are so thankful for all the brides who joined us this past weekend! Let wedding season begin!

Thanks to Elegant Presentation for the fabulous linen and chairs and Tom Nicol Photography for capturing the day!

Peonies, Peonies, Peonies!

Today, we did some gorgeous peonie arrangements for a baby shower at The Herrington Inn.  We loved the color combination of the color charm peonies and the bright fuchsia   They made such a statement on their own, there was no other flowers needed. They made the tables pop and the gray and coral napkins made the perfect finishing touch! Image

Morton Arboretum Event

We had the best time at the Morton Arboretum Event this past weekend! It was so much fun planning our table scape from the linens, to the vases, and deciding on the amazing flowers we would use.

We wanted to go for an ultra chic, romantic and feminine look. When we chose the blush colored linens and lace runner, we knew we had the perfect setting for a spring look the brides would LOVE.  And nothing says glamorous like crystal! Check out the chiavari chairs!!! Are they not a-m-a-z-i-n-g?

Garden Roses, peonies, anemones, ranunculus, and nerine lilies made the perfect statement along the table. They were so beautiful, lush, and the colors popped! We could not have been happier with the way it all came together!

The night was a huge success, and we were able to show off some of Elizabeth Wray Design’s creative work! Enjoy the pictures taken by Joseph Chen Photography.

Lauren & Dan’s December Wedding

Today, we are sharing with you Lauren and Dan’s December wedding that took place at The Herrington Inn & Spa in Geneva.  It was one of our last weddings of the year, and we were so happy to be a part of their big day.

We loved the mix of rich and deep purples in the bouquets and centerpieces.  Who says Christmas has to be all green and red?  The mercury glass vases and candles set the perfect scene for a cozy and romantic winter wedding.  Here are some of our favorite images captured by Laurie Peacock Photography.

There are so may amazing wedding trends beginning to take off in 2013! We love looking at all the gorgeous dresses, men’s fashion statements, but most of all we are obsessing over all the flowers! Not only are flowers being used for their most traditional purposes, but brides are taking flowers to a new, fun, and extremely creative level!

It makes our hearts happy seeing all these amazing ideas and beautiful florals being brought to life in different ways! There are truly no limits when it comes to what we can do at Elizabeth Wray Design!

Here are some of the best of the best! New bouquet ideas, head pieces, place card tables, boutonnieres, etc! We hope we get to try out some of these new trends with our 2013 brides! Can’t wait to see what they will come up with!

Not only are brides carrying their flowers, but they are wearing them as well!

Floral place card table

A place card table laid with flowers! Such a unique and simple idea!

Farm table

If a venue will allow it, family style tables are all the talk! With continuous low centerpieces completing the look!

Fun Bouts

Not only are brides bouquets becoming more adventurous, but so are the grooms boutonnieres! We love all the different styles incorporated into this wedding!

We think it is fair to say that wedding flowers are becoming better and more beautiful each year!! Wouldn’t you agree?

No Winter Blues at EWD!

It may be January, but that does not mean we stop planning and preparing for wedding season! We have been meeting with future brides, coming up with new and beautiful table scapes for each wedding we get to be a part of, and patiently awaiting spring so we can once again be surrounded by wedding flowers!

Lately, we have been busy pinning and posting (“like” and “follow” us!!) beautiful weddings we have done in the past, or weddings that have given us inspiration! From Blake Lively’s bouquet, to our downtown Chicago wedding at the History Museum.  We are beyond excited for wedding season to be here, but until then, we will be creating gorgeous arrangements and thinking up new ideas so all our 2013 brides will have the perfect day!!

End-of-2012 Weddings

We have two couples tying the knot on the last saturday in 2012 – Maggie & Tyler at the Herrington Inn, just across the street from our studio here in Geneva, IL; and Becky & Thomas are at Acquaviva Winery in Maple Park, IL. Both Brides have a completely different look for their nuptials, Maggie is going for the formal black and red combo that really makes a statement and blends seemlessly with the existing Christmas decor at the Herrington. Becky has more the traditional pale ivory, blush tones with mercury glass and mixed containers for her centerpieces, which updates the look. Both will be beautiful weddings, we are very excited to a part of both couples’ big days. Here is a mini sneak peek of the flower arrangements and bouquets for each Bride –>

Happy New Year!
